The film follows the story of Hercules (Henry Cavill), who is stripped of his immortality and forced to live among mortals. He becomes a slave and is later freed by King Cotys (John Hurt), who tasks him with defeating the warlord Amphitryon (Brenton Thwaites), who is terrorizing the kingdom. Along the journey, Hercules teams up with a half-woman, half-goddess named Demetrius (Mila Kirfer).
