The movie takes place in the home of the Moreno family, where Ivy lives with her mother, Ruth (Shelley Duvall), and her younger sister, Selena (Lili Taylor). The family's life is turned upside down when Ivy, seeking to contact her deceased brother, begins to use the Ouija board.
