Knuckles Chaotix was developed by Sega's Sonic Team and released for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. The game was a 2D side-scroller that introduced a new gameplay mechanic: the " partner" system. Players controlled Knuckles and his partner, Chaotix (a wisecracking, blue-blob creature), as they navigated through levels to stop the evil Dr. Eggman and his new partner, Metal Sonic.
