The movie revolves around two friends, Karan (Shah Rukh Khan) and Arjun (Salman Khan), who are separated at birth. Karan is a poor but honest young man, while Arjun is a rich and spoiled brat. When they meet, they decide to switch lives, with Karan taking Arjun's place as the son of a wealthy industrialist, and Arjun taking Karan's place as the son of his poor mother.
