The film takes place after the events of the first movie, with the Joes, led by Duke (Channing Tatum), on the run after being framed for a terrorist attack. The team must clear their names and take down the Cobra organization, led by Firefly (Donald Sutherland) and Cobra Commander (Luke Evans).
