The film tells the story of Lee Mong-hak (played by Jae-joo Yi), a young man from a noble family who falls in love with Chun-hyang (played by Young-bin Kim), a courtesan's daughter. Despite their different social classes, they begin a romantic relationship, but their love is threatened by the societal norms and expectations of their time.
