Anushka Sharma was born to a military officer father, Umesh Sharma, and a homemaker mother, Pushpa Sharma. She has an elder brother, Karnesh Sharma. Due to her father's job, Anushka spent her early years moving from one place to another. She did her schooling in various cities, including Mumbai.
