The game takes place 30 years after the events of the first Lords of Shadow. Dracula, now known as Lord of the Shadows, has been resurrected by his own powers and seeks to reclaim his throne. However, he soon discovers that his powers are fading, and he must find a way to regain them. Meanwhile, a new protagonist, Alucard, Dracula's son, is on a quest to stop his father's evil plans.
