The movie follows the story of Bangali Babu (played by Prosenjit Chatterjee), a 45-year-old man who is struggling to cope with the changing world around him. He is a simple, rustic Bengali who finds it difficult to adapt to modern English-speaking society. His wife, Mem (played by Rituparna Sengupta), is a modern, English-speaking woman who tries to help her husband adjust to the new world.
